Since 2016, Hayward Family Eye Care has served as a dedicated and caring provider of quality vision services to Hayward and the surrounding communities.

OUR DOCTORS
Dr. Mikeal R Ostrander
Dr. Ostrander grew up in Rice Lake, WI and attended UW-Eau Claire where he received a degree in Biology and Pre-professional health. He attended Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago where he received his Optometry Degree in 2013. After school, Dr. Ostrander moved back to Rice Lake and began practicing between Rice Lake, Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, Barron, and Spooner before taking over Hayward Family Eye Care in 2021.
Dr. Ostrander is licensed to practice optometry at the highest level. He regularly treats and manages various eye diseases and performs co-management of surgical procedures. He is a member of various optometric organizations at local, state, and national levels.
Dr. Ostrander believes in a holistic approach to eye care and is known for providing the best possible care. He enjoys taking the time to get to know his patients and help them with not only their current vision problems but ensuring they maintain good vision for their entire life.
Beyond Optometry, Dr. Ostrander enjoys outdoor activities including golf, biking, boating, fishing, and shooting. He also enjoys to support the local community through Lions Club, Moose Lodge, and many Education based activities.
Dr. Beth Heinz
Dr. Heinz grew up in Park Falls, WI and attended UW-Stevens Point, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in biology in 2017. She went on to attend the Kentucky College of Optometry at the University of Pikeville, graduating with her Doctor of Optometry degree
in 2025.
Dr. Heinz is passionate about providing personalized and comprehensive eye care. She is committed to helping patients maintain healthy vision and enjoys working with individuals of all ages. Her approach focuses on educating patients and building lasting
relationships based on trust and compassion.
Dr. Heinz is licensed to practice optometry at the highest level and is trained in diagnosing and managing a wide range of ocular conditions. She is dedicated to
ongoing education and professional development to ensure she provides the best care possible.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Heinz enjoys spending time outdoors fishing, relaxing with a good puzzle, and cherishing time with her loved ones. She values family and community and looks forward to serving patients with care and integrity.

Annie Kelly
Annie is originally from Westby Montana and moved to the Hayward area in 2000. She enjoys cooking,
cleaning, baking, crafts, and traveling.
Optician
Joy French
Joy grew up in Southern California before moving to Wisconsin to raise her family over 30 years ago. She
enjoys thoroughbred horse racing, water coloring, crafts, yardwork, singing, and walking her dog, Sonny.
Joy also spends her free time with her 4 grandchildren who live locally in the Hayward area.
Office Manager
Karin Sandman
Karin and her husband John live just outside of Hayward and Karin has been a resident of the Hayward
area for almost 35 years. Karin loves the Northwoods and enjoys gardening, music, kayaking, cooking,
camping, and spending time with her family (Especially her 2 ½ year old granddaughter).
